1. Purpose

These terms govern the rental of snow sports equipment (skis, snowboards, boots, helmets and accessories) booked on this website from Eco Ski, a shop in the Piau-Engaly ski resort. Every booking constitutes acceptance of these terms.

2. Booking

The customer chooses the rental dates and items and, for packs and equipment set up per person, gives each skier’s weight, height, shoe size and age group. The customer provides their first name, last name, email address and phone number.

Rentals last from 2 to 31 days. The first and last days count towards the duration.

The equipment is held for 30 minutes while payment is made. The booking is firm as soon as the booking fee payment is accepted; a confirmation with a booking reference is then sent by email.

3. Prices

Prices are in euros, including all taxes, per item and per rental day. The total equals the sum of the item prices multiplied by the number of rental days. The price that applies is the one shown at the time of booking.

4. Payment

A booking fee of €10 is paid online by card when booking, or the full total when it is €10 or less. It is deducted from the total.

Online payment is processed by Stripe; Eco Ski never has access to card numbers. The balance is paid at the shop when collecting the equipment.

5. Collection and return

Equipment is collected at the shop during opening hours on the first rental day, and returned no later than the last rental day before the shop closes.

Equipment is prepared from the information the customer provides, which the customer guarantees is accurate; settings can be adjusted at the shop. An identity document or a security deposit may be requested at collection.

6. Use and liability

During the rental, the equipment is in the customer’s care and under their responsibility; the customer undertakes to use it normally and for its intended purpose.

Loss, theft or damage beyond normal wear may be charged according to the rates displayed in the shop. Any incident must be reported to the shop without delay.

Snow sports involve risks. Eco Ski cannot be held liable for damage resulting from improper use of the equipment or failure to follow safety rules.

7. Cancellation and changes

The customer may cancel free of charge by contacting the shop by phone or email before the first rental day: the booking fee is then refunded in full to the card used. Changes to dates or items are made the same way, subject to availability.

If the equipment is not collected on the first rental day and the booking was not cancelled, the booking fee is kept by Eco Ski.

If Eco Ski cannot supply the booked equipment, the booking is cancelled and all sums paid are refunded in full.

8. Right of withdrawal

Under Article L221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to rental and leisure services provided on a specific date or for a specific period. The cancellation terms of section 7 apply.

9. Complaints and mediation

Complaints can be sent to the shop by email or phone. If a dispute is not resolved, the customer may refer it free of charge to the consumer mediator named at the top of these terms.

10. Personal data

Data provided when booking is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to consumer protection rules.
